It’s one of the largest new rail projects in Europe. Extending over 800-kilometres, Rail Baltica will connect Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania with their first high-speed line. These nations have been lacking a modern railway since the fall of the Soviet Union, and the scheme is a key priority for the EU. With stations designed by world-leading architects and hundreds of bridges to build, this is the Baltics’ biggest project for 100 years.
The remarkable feat of construction officially opened on 6 May 1994, creating a physical link between the UK and Europe.
The $4.2BN project, designed by MANICA Architecture, will replace the Bears existing base at the historic Soldier Field.
The £1BN development at Blackfriars will see the construction of a 45-storey new office tower alongside two 40 and 22-storey residential structures.
