Forward Thinking

18 October 2018

THE latest documentary in The B1M's ground-breaking Future Construction content partnership with Kier Group has been released.

"Forward Thinking" looks at how innovation and technology are being embraced across Kier, one of the United Kingdom's (UK) leading construction business. The documentary is led by Kier's innovation director Mark Austin and explores the firm's work in areas such as geospatial information systems (GIS), design for manufacture and the pioneering of an app that is the first of its kind in the world.

Louise Dawes, group BIM integration manager, introduces the contractor's award-winning digital construction apprenticeship scheme and underlines the importance of investing in the next generation.

Austin also outlines Kier's involvement with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) in Coventry, UK, and the concept of "technology roadmaps".

The Forward Thinking documentary joins Innovation Meets R7 and Project Capella: A BIM Journey as the latest content piece to be released under The B1M's partnership with Kier.
