The B1M are looking for a full-time Video Editor, who will be responsible for editing content for distribution across all of The B1M’s channels.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of post production and be able to liaise with teams to create visually engaging content. They will have a great eye for detail and a broad knowledge of social media platforms, understanding how different audiences engage with content across different platforms. An understanding or interest in the construction industry would be a distinct advantage for the right candidate.

You will be working closely alongside our Managing Director, Fred Mills. This is an exciting opportunity to become a key part of a growing business in a really interesting and underserved sector. 

YouTube knowledge and previous experience working with online content would be a distinct advantage.

The role will be a full-time position with a three month probation period. An editing show reel will be expected on application. Successful applicants will be required to undertake a test day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Editing a variety of short form videos that are consistent in tone and personality.
  • Fast and efficient editing on quick turnaround edits.
  • Exporting videos to HD YouTube and/or Facebook specification.
  • Liaising with Senior team to meet set deadlines.
  • Organising rushes from shoots, backing-up the footage and ingesting.
  • Updating the media management databases.

Required Skills / Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in short form editing - knowledge of Adobe Premiere would be an advantage.
  • Proven narrative/story telling experience.
  • After Effects and Photoshop knowledge.
  • Basic colour correction and sound mixing skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • High standards and ambitions, hardworking and reliable.
  • Independent, resourceful, pro-active, creative, organised with good timekeeping skills.
  • Able to listen and follow instructions and ask questions when not clear.
  • Knowledge of YouTube and social media best practice.
