Progress on Thematic Expo 2020 Pavilions Revealed

RECENT footage from Dubai reveals the progress on the Expo 2020 site and its three main thematic pavilions.

Located along the edges of the Expo site, the three pavilions will complement the national exhibits with the themes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability.

The 4,500 square metre Opportunity pavilion, designed by Cox Architecture, will be built from natural materials such as timber, rope, 2,500 tonnes of stone and will be dedicated to showing stories of human progress and co-operation.

Also under construction is the Foster + Partners-designed Mobility pavilion, which focuses on future modes of transport for people and goods.

The Sustainability pavilion, designed by British practice Grimshaw consists of an elliptical canopy covered in solar panels.

It will showcase innovative sustainable technologies, from energy to agriculture and is expected to receive 4,400 visitors an hour at peak times.

Expo 2020 Dubai will be held from October 2020 until April 2021.
