What Will BIM Mean for the Fit Out Sector?

BIM4FitOut is a group of companies involved in fit out and finishes working collaboratively to integrate BIM into their sector. Here we take a look inside their inaugural conference and the thoughts coming out of it.

The group is run by FIS and includes main contractors, specialist contractors and manufacturers. They’re informing the sector of the benefits of BIM and engaging them so that they are enabled to work in this new digital environment.

They are also carefully identifying the processes that destroy value in construction; this can and does occur at all points of the supply chain and they believe that their vertically integrated forum has a greater chance of identifying and improving efficiency in the process.
